This is a 1920s art deco fashion shawl made of gold "lamé" which is a gold metallic thread woven in a pattern against a black background that is also woven with a floral pattern in colors of red, orange and light blue. The metallic gold forms geometric patterns, very art deco in conception. There are two 11" black silk tassels, each attached to a corner of the shawl - I haven't posed it like this, but perhaps the tassels would tie in the front and the shawl would fall like a cape at the back. I don't see any evidence of there having been other tassels.

The piece measures 47" by 48", exclusive of the tassels. It is in very good condition with no wear, tear, stains, holes or odors - there may be one or two loose gold threads, but this is really nothing.

This is a gorgeous piece....fabulous quality...make an entrance with this glittery shawl!
